What is Casey’s Law?
The Matthew Casey Wethington Act for Substance Abuse Intervention provides avenues for intervention when a person becomes unable to recognize their need for treatment due to impairment from their addiction. In layman’s terms, this means that a parent, relative, or friend can ask the court to enact involuntary treatment on behalf of a person suffering from substance abuse.
